HVDC-WISE Sixth General Assembly: Advancing Reliable and Resilient HVDC Grids

The HVDC-WISE consortium convened in Aachen, Germany on November 25–26, 2025 for its Sixth General Assembly in Aachen, bringing together leading partners to review progress and set the course for future milestones in building reliable and resilient HVDC grids.

Over two days, the assembly featured deep technical sessions focused on resilience, reliability, and actionable recommendations for strengthening HVDC systems. Work Package leaders presented updates on key tasks, including WP7 activities on resilience strategies and recommendations for action, and WP6 discussions on reliability and system performance. These sessions provided a collaborative platform to align on priorities and accelerate innovation.

A highlight of the event was the live AC Protection Testbench demonstration showcasing cutting-edge solutions for improving grid security and operational robustness. This hands-on demonstration underscored the consortium’s commitment to practical, high-impact research.

As the consortium looks ahead, planning for future deliverables and milestones remains central to its mission: enabling a more resilient, flexible, and sustainable energy system through advanced HVDC technology.
